Beauty Haul: The Order from Sephora that Took A Month to Arrive

I was genuinely shocked when this package turned up at my door a few days ago – I have pretty much given up all hopes of ever receiving this package, since I made the purchase almost a month ago. I made the online purchase from Sephora France, and given that it takes about 2 hours to travel from my house to Paris, I definitely didn’t expect to wait for more than a month without any contact or explanation from Sephora.

A quick peek at my loot! The main item I wanted to get and also the reason why this haul happened was the Burberry Beauty Box – I saw the mailer from Sephora with a picture of this, and that quickly escalated. This contains a small brush, a 0.8g Lip Velvet in Rosewood, 3.5g Natural Blush in No. 02 Cameo and a 5ml tube of Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base. I think I’ll be doing a review on this set so stay tuned for that!

I also needed a red lipstick for a party that I was going, so I picked up the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Doubt (Comfort Matte) – this not just arrived too late, but also broken at the base with part of the lipstick nicked and stuck to the cap so I am very upset. I have no idea why I bought the Marc Jacobs (P)Outliner Longwear Lip Pencil in 304 (Prim)Rose. I also received 2 sample vials of perfume for free – the Escada Agua Del Sol Eau de Toilette, which smells really sweet, and Mr Burberry Eau de Toilette, which is going to the hubby.

In all, I don’t think I am ever going to order online from Sephora France again. The customer service is shit, although part of the problem is that I don’t speak french. I’ve emailed them a couple of times and they rarely respond. They took a week to send out the delivery notice, but there was no tracking details so I doubt that they mailed it until I started blasting them with emails – at which point they claimed that I didn’t give my full address, but I did. Then there is the broken lipstick. I probably can ask for an exchange but honestly, the whole process is just a painful experience and I don’t want to repeat it.
