Beauty Review: Burberry Beauty Box

As revealed in my last haul, I ordered this Burberry Beauty Box off Sephora about a month ago but it only just arrived a few days ago. This costs €35 and is still available for sale on the Sephora France website today. I’ve owned and loved a few Burberry beauty items, so I thought this was an awesome chance to get my hands on a few more to try!

This set includes a 5ml tube of Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base in Nude Radiance No.01, a 0.8g of Lip Velvet in Rosewood No.42, a 3.5g of Light Glow Blush in Cameo shade No.02, and a kabuki brush mini. It comes in a very nice nude-coloured cardboard box, with a velvet roll for the kabuki brush. The casings for the lipstick and blush are the regular metal casings.

I’ve seen bad reviews on the Sephora website, mainly because of the size. The descriptions did not mention how big the items are; these items are really small, with the only exception being the blush. I knew it will be small, given the price point and previous releases, but apparently a lot of people weren’t. So take note that these are not full size.

In my excitement, I forgot to take a closer look at what was included – otherwise I would have realised that I already own the same blush. It’s fine though as it’s a really beautiful dirty rose shade that I don’t mind having a backup of. It feels like the same texture as the full size, which is very smooth and buttery. This can be applied lightly but can also be easily built up.

Lip Velvet in Rosewood is a beautiful dark berry pink, perfect for fall; it reminds me of the BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Get Ready that I received in a Look Fantastic box, which I’ve swatched side by side below. The burberry lipstick is more velvet and not glossy in comparison, with a little less pink in it. It’s lightweight and very comfortable to wear.

The Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base is supposed to be a “multiuse luminizer”. It’s a thin liquid highlighter; it reminds me of MAC’s strobe cream but thinner and more lightweight in texture. I prefer to use this by mixing it with a liquid foundation, which helps give a nice dewy and smoother look. It makes my skin looks a bit better in a very natural way.

A quick mention of the Kabuki brush – it’s very small, but it’s large enough to be used as a blush brush. I think the hairs are pretty soft, even softer than some full size face brushes, and it’s in a travel friendly size. I haven’t used it enough to tell if the hairs will fall out.

In all, I honestly love this beauty box. The items are indeed small, but I personally love them this way because it’s so cute! I almost never use up blushes or lipsticks, so these are good sizes for me. At €35, I don’t find it to be too expensive given a full size 6.8g blush costs about €42; it’s a good price point to try 3 items with a nice small brush.

Granted, the size of the products should have been stated in the description – but when something sounds too good to be true, then it probably isn’t true. I don’t think people should be angry or expect 3 full size items when the price is less than one full size item. Personally, I think this is a great set especially if you haven’t tried the brand!

    1. Thanks for commenting! 🙂
I’m quite partial to their blushes – I haven’t met one that I haven’t loved!! I find that their blushes are very consistent in quality whether it’s in their regular line or even when it’s limited edition!
I also love their lipsticks and eyeshadows, but lipsticks are quite hard to recommend (really depends on what texture you like) and eyeshadows are so expensive for their mostly neutral shades. So if I had to pick, definitely the blushes! 🙂
