Beauty Favourites of April 2017

I just realised that I’ve never done one of these favourite posts – mainly because I find it really hard to track, as well as I’m so fickle that I usually don’t stick to one product so much that I could honestly call it a “favourite”. But this month I found myself repeatedly reaching out for the same few items, so they are definitely worthy of being called “favourites”! I know the month’s not quite over yet but I think we’re far enough into April.

First up is the Rimmel Natural Bronzer in Sun Bronze – you can see from the pan that it’s well loved! Spring is here – the sun’s out, the trees are green, and picnic mats are out in the parks but my face is so pale that it looks as though it’s been frozen over since Winter. I needed some colour so I’ve been dusting this just anywhere that looked unnaturally fair.

I’ve also been using the Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Pressed Powder in Warm Beige; even though I have dry skin I still like to finish off with a light dusting of powder. I really love this because it never looks powdery. It has a little bit of coverage so it’s great for spring or summer when I prefer to use a light foundation or tinted moisturiser.

I never used to like Bourjois’ blushes because the one I had before was horrible, but now I think I might have gotten a bad one. This Bourjois Blush in Rose Ambre felt and looked amazing – it’s matte and smooth but not powdery at all. It’s not very strong on first brush, but it is very buildable. It’s kind of a warm medium rose with a hint of red.

A couple of items I’ve been loving for the eyes – the Eyeko Black Magic Mascara Drama & Curl and the Rimmel Magnif’eyes Eye Contouring Palette in Grunge Glamour. The Eyeko mascara was the first I’ve tried from the brand and it looks so amazing! I don’t see the curl effect, but it made my lashes look bigger and longer. The Rimmel palette is super travel friendly with great colour payoff and buttery smooth textures, no fall-out, plus it’s cheap! Grunge Glamour has a couple of purple and taupe shades that are perfect for a sultry look.

Last but not least, I have the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream. I got this from the Beauty Advent Calendar that the hubby gave me over Christmas and I finally understand all the rave! It’s very thick, creamy, and very soothing on the skin. I don’t think it’s suitable for all skin types but if your skin is dehydrated or dry, this feels so good. Surprisingly it works well under makeup despite how heavy it is and doesn’t cause my makeup to shift around.

I just realised that I have a lot of Rimmel products in my list of favourites this month! Perhaps, I should call Rimmel my favourite brand of the month? Anyway, these are my favourite beauty products in April – what about you?

    1. Honestly I hate the packaging too – both for the powder and the bronzer. It’s convenient to see the colour but it’s definitely not the most travel friendly (no mirror and it’s a thin plastic that cracks so easily)!
