Beauty Empties: 1 – 15 September 2016

One of my favourite activity, weirdly, is clearing out empties from my overstuffed beauty drawer. I love buying and trying new beauty items, but I also hate wasting stuff – so using them up, and knowing that I haven’t wasted my money and perfectly usable items, makes me really happy. Let’s take a look at what’s in the trash!

1. Dermina Sensélina Eau Micellaire Apaisante Peaux Intolérantes

Reviewed this earlier; not something that I will repurchase – mainly because of its extremely strong chemical scent which is really a big put off.

2. Rich Miracle Renew CC Shampoo
Despite my dislike and disapproval of companies putting the words “BB” and “CC” on every product, I actually really liked this. It made my hair feel really smooth and tangle free.

3. Avene Eau Thermale
Received this in a Birchbox recently. It feels just like spraying water on my face so I wouldn’t be repurchasing this; I always think of them as overpriced water.

4. Aromatherapy Associates Bath & Shower Oil in Support Equilibrium
5. Aromatherapy Associates Bath & Shower Oil in Revive Evening

I’ve commented on the Aromatherapy Associates Bath & Shower Oil several times since I’ve purchased it; frequent readers would know that I love these oils. These two are not my favourite scents but their effectiveness is still just as good.

6. Jane Iredale PureLash Extender & Conditioner
I’ve had this for awhile; I’m too lazy and keep forgetting to use it. I think I’ve kept this for too long because it made my eye itch the last time I used it so this has got to go.

7. Absolution Le Nettoyant Purete
Got this from a Birchbox. Not a big fan of this because it feels very foamy and soapy.

8. Nivea Make-Up Remover
9. Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24h

Two small sample sachets. I don’t really enjoy cream make-up removers and the Nivea one didn’t manage to change my mind about them – way too troublesome and leaves a residue. I do like the Lancome foundation – I’ve used this before and this reminded me how much I liked it; I would love to purchase it if I finish up my existing stash of foundations.

That’s it! It’s not much, especially considering a couple are just small sachets. I need to be a little more disciplined and use the same products consistently before I open new ones – I have about 5 black eyeliners and 4 mascaras, opened and half used, at the same time. But it’s so hard to control myself when I’m looking at shiny new beauty products in my hands!
