Makeup Destash: The Face Powders Edition

As I mentioned a few posts earlier, I’ve been down in the dumps for the past few months and have not really been that interested in makeup. I was kind of just not interested in anything, really. But I’m really trying hard to get out of that little downward mood spiral and I thought a good clear out of my old stuff would do the trick! Or at least help a little.

1. Dewy Tree Mineral Air Fix Loose Powder
This is really powdery and flies everywhere. It has a little pump sponge that’s supposed to make application easier but I find it more frustrating because it’s impossible to blend with the sponge and never dispense the correct amount of powder.

2. NARS Blush in Deep Throat
This is almost finished and has just that little bit left where it’s impossible to get the correct amount of powder onto the brush so it’s time for it to go!

3. Wet n Wild Coloricon Bronzer in Everything Under the Sun
4. The Body Shop Blush in 01 Petal
5. Essence Prismatic Rainbow Glow Highlighter in 10 Be a Unicorn
6. Sportsgirl Get Cheeky Cheek & Eye Shimmer
7. The Body Shop in 02 Warm Glow

A few bronzers and blushes that I no longer use; they’re pretty old and a number of them have formed a layer of crust on top, making it difficult to get good pigment off. I really don’t like the Essence rainbow highlighter – I got this when there was a rainbow highlighter craze but this just never looked right on the skin for me. I really liked the Sportsgirl cheek & eye shimmer as well as the body shop bronzer, but they’re really really old.

8. Elizabeth Arden Pure Finish Mineral Bronzing Powder in Medium x 2
I got this free in some goodiebag with purchase some years back and basically never touched it. I find loose bronzing powder too messy.

9. So Susan Light Diffuser Illuminator & Bronzer Duo
This is super small for a highlighter/bronzer duo and it’s very hard to find any brush that fits into the pan. It’s also not worth the effort anyway because the payoff is awful.

I always find having a nice clean desk comforting, and having too much old stuff around me feels a little oppressive. Sometimes when I have too many things, I don’t know where to start and I kind of just give up. My mood does feel a little lighter after the clearout and I am looking forward to doing more of this for other makeup as well as around the house!

Anyway, that’s the face powders done – stay tuned for creams, lips, and more destashing!
