Beauty Empties: October 2015 – Part 2

I guess I spoke a little too early when I mentioned in Part 1 that I should be able to post consistently… but at least this time it’s only been a few days since the last! I’m hoping to stick to a twice or thrice a week schedule – I have tons of posts planned, so many things to say, so much to show, but so little time to do it! It’s already past the middle of November so I will be short and sweet for this post… since very soon I will be putting up November’s empties!

17. Essence Eyeliner Pen
This is my favourite eyeliner pen! I haven’t tried that many, and I’ve never tried a non-drugstore eyeliner because I already know that I am horrible at using liquid eyeliner so I prefer to ‘train’ with a cheap one. This one is good and cheap; extremely easy to use. The soft tip is flexible but not too soft, and draws on a very dark line that stays on all day. Definitely repurchasing!

18. Victoria’s Secret EPIC Lash Mascara
I’ve had this for a while – it was sealed so I thought it would be okay so I tried to use it recently. Unfortunately it smelt like a chemical factory – not sure if it always smelt like that or it’s spoilt.

19. Lucido-L Hair Wax – Moisture
20. Lucido-L Creamy Souffle Hair Wax
21. Lucido-L Designing Pot – Swing Loose
22. Liese Clear Cube Wax – Moisture

Holy crap – I can’t believe that I still have these!!! I’m not even sure if they are still being sold. I bought these when I had very short boy-style hair… I now have nearly waist length hair, for a couple of years already, so you can imagine how old these are!

23. No7 Sheer Temptation in 40 Lovely
This was my favourite lip colour for a long time; I got this as a gift with purchase of other No7 products a couple of years back. It doesn’t have much staying power and it only has a hint of colour, but makes my lips look so lovely and juicy when freshly applied. It’s very lightweight, rather slippery on the lips so it glides on well.

24. Balm Kitchen Coffee O’holic Kissable Lip Balm
I bought this at a Sunday Market that sold lots of indie brands products; I chose it mainly for the coffee scent because I am a very big coffee drinker. I think it’s nice, but unfortunately it didn’t also taste like coffee – it’s just slightly disappointing when something that smells like coffee doesn’t taste like it. I didn’t finish this, but it was kinda of ‘leaking’ so out it goes.

25. Rachel K Mineral Color Control CC Cream Blemish Balm
I’ve seen quite a few local bloggers rave about this BB cream a few years back; but honestly personally I think it’s a very average BB cream. It doesn’t have amazing staying power but coverage is slightly higher than the average BB cream. The finish is not too dry nor too oily.

26. MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Definitely Defined
This is made up of 2 halfs – a much lighter frosty white-pink side which only works as a highlighter, and the other much pinker side which works as a blush as well as to add a lovely glow on top of other blushes. I love the pink side because it’s much more wearable and not as disco-ball looking, so I have basically used up half of the whole pan. I don’t think I will be using much of the frosty white pink as it’s really unflattering so back-to-mac this goes.

27. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer in 10 Fair
I bought this when I was much fairer but soon after the purchase, I got a tan and never got back to my initial skin colour. This is way too light for me and so obvious. I’ve had it for almost 2 years and I don’t think I will become as fair as before so goodbye it is.

28. NYX Glitter Mania Jumbo Pencil in 08 Cayanne
Goodness knows what I was thinking when I purchased this but this is an unusable pencil. It’s just pink glitter bits on a base that doesn’t show up. It migrates everywhere.

29. ELF Eyelid Primer
One of my favourite cheap eyelid primers! I don’t think it is as good as Too Faced Shadow Insurance or the Urban Decay Primer Potion, but it does a good-enough job at holding shadows in place all day. I think it’s not as great with helping weaker eyeshadows perform better, but honestly that’s not the primer’s problem is it?

30. Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm in 010 Twilight
31. Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick in 050 Top Tomato

Two lip products that were buried deep in the makeup graveyard at the back of my drawer. I’ve had these two for years; I don’t even want to recall how many years it’s been. I think I’ve only used them a handful of times – but I recall that the the ulimate liquid lipstick is so drying that it made my lips crack. The Just Bitten Lipstain was just a forgettable product that was trying to hitch on the “Just Bitten” line craze but never caught on.

And that’s it for October’s empties! I have you’ve had fun looking at some of the things that I’ve used up, and also the things that I couldn’t even force myself to use up. Hopefully my waste can help you avoid some products and save some money!
