After having a really wonderful dream-like wedding, and a two-week honeymoon in Turkey, I am finally back! The wedding went amazingly smoothly, and I think it really was much better than I ever expected it to be. We also didn’t spend as much as we had budgeted for, which was great as it meant that we had some spare cash to spoil ourselves with afters!
There were, of course, bits that I wished went better; a) I didn’t like one of my evening gowns as much and I think I gave too much freedom for the designer but it wasn’t too bad, b) I look fat in my photos but that is my own fault because I didn’t slim down as much as I had planned, c) there was so much wasted food because we over-catered and I can’t bear seeing food wasted, and d) I wish I had more time to mingle with the guests and friends through the day.
The good bits, which more than offset all the negative bits, was that everyone – the hubby and I, family and the guests – had fun, and it wasn’t as tiring as expected. The church wedding was surprisingly dreamy for me since I am a free thinker and I am so glad we made the effort to make that happen. The food turned out to be really delicious and everyone couldn’t stop exclaiming how fun the day was, and there was just so much laughter. I would say it was reasonably classy and fun, just the way we hoped, so it was amazing!
And with that, it’s time to be back to reality! I am now happily married – officially a full-time housewife and a post-grad student, at least for the next year or so, so I should be back to putting up posts regularly again. I have a lot of backlog to go through, but also a few new ideas that I’m hoping to be able to get up on this blog soon. So please be patient with me and come back regularly to check out what’s new! 🙂
