This beauty box is pretty late but I just discovered it at the end of September and luckily managed to put in a last-minute purchase before the month ended, so I got my hands on the September box which should be closely followed by the October box soon. I saw an unboxing for it – so sorry but I can’t remember where – and really wanted to try out the items that was in the September box so I’m seriously happy that I managed to get it!
The StyleTone Beauty Box is from the Netherlands and promises 5 full size products each month at the cost of €12.50 if you live in Netherlands or €15 if you live in Belgium. They ship out the boxes every second Thursday of the month; for new subscribers, you will receive your first StyleTone box in the same month that you ordered.
Item 1. Figs & Rouge Pore Refining Anti-Blemish Cream
RRP: €31.50
This cream helps to combat breakouts and blemishes. I have quite a lot of blemish creams now, as I had a weird period of skin breakouts not too long ago and basically bought the shop out; now I’m not sure what to do with this – might be passing it on to the husband.
Item 2. Ellis Faas Milky Lips in L204
RRP: €27
This is the item that I really wanted to try! I’ve heard of Ellis Faas many years ago, but never got a chance to get my hands on it. It comes in a very sleek metal bullet-shaped tube that you have to turn several rounds before the product comes through to the tip of the gloss. Unfortunately, the shade is a really weird burnt orange and looked rather horrible on me, given that I have yellow skin tone so it sort of accentuated it and makes me look sick. The texture is quite nice though and the packaging is beautiful.
Item 3. Ace of Face Eyerule No 3 Volumizing Curling Mascara
RRP: €14.90
I’ve never heard of this brand before, but it apparently only makes eye products. The wand looks rather interesting in the picture on the box – really long on half and really short on the other half; I can’t wait to try it when it’s time to throw out the currently opened ones!
Item 4. Emite Nail Lacquer in Rasp
RRP: €12
There’s 3 shades of this which are randomly allocated – Cham (Classic Red), Rasp (Pink) and Hone (Nude); I got Rasp which is a pretty light pink. It’s a nice girly colour and surprisingly I really like it – it’s a lot less bubblegum pink than I thought it would be.
Item 5. Note Mono Eyeshadow in 04
RRP: €9.90
There were 4 shades of this that were allocated randomly; I received the warm grey shade. I find the swatch to be rather soft without being too powdery, but it also looks slightly patchy when swatched on my hands – will have to test it a bit more on the eyes.
So what do you think of this box? Personally, I think the price is really awesome – I get to try 5 full size items, and for once the box is not filled with skincare products and the odd black eyeliner, but actually has a decent amount of makeup products. I didn’t like the colour of the Ellis Faas lip product, but I’m happy to have the chance to try something from the brand. The pink nailpolish is really growing on me and the mascara will definitely come in useful very soon. I’m definitely excited to see what’s in next month’s box!
