Beauty Empties: 15 – 31 December 2016

One of my goals for the new year is to use up much of the products I have here in Belgium, as I will be relocating in the later half of the year. I’ve accumulated such a large amount in the last half a year that it’s shocking. For awhile I thought I was doing good, then the holiday season and their crazy promotions came – and my stash multiplied faster than rabbits and way out of hand, so I’ll be working extra hard to use them up. Anyway, isn’t it a great way to welcome the new year by throwing out things from the last year?

1. Ekos Beautifying Dry Oil
2. Molton Brown Japanese Orange Nourishing Body Lotion

A couple of body moisturisers. The Ekos oil is really nice; being a dry oil, this sinks into the skin really quickly without leaving any sticky or oily feeling. The Molton Brown lotion is a rather runny lotion that smells quite nice but I don’t find it moisturising enough for winter.

3. Bliss Fabulous Foaming Face Wash
I really like this face wash; it’s got little exfoliating beads in it but foams up nicely and doesn’t leave your skin dry like most foaming face wash.

4. GlamGlow Powermud Dualcleanse Treatment
I’m quite a fan of GlamGlow products; they are really expensive but I think I can really see a difference on my skin after using them. I find this one to be slightly more tingly than the Youthmud, but it works just as well – my skin looks clearer after use.

5. Bubble T Hibiscus & Acai Berry Tea Bath Fizzer
I was very excited when I got this but I wasn’t too happy with the scent once it’s in my bath – it’s a little too sweet and fake to me, and reminded me of this medicine I used to hate.

6. Innisfree Powerproof Pen Liner
This gives a very strong black line but I felt that the tip was a little too hard to it was a little difficult to draw on. I prefer my pen liners to have a tip that is slightly softer and bendy.

7. Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream
8. Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Serum

Other than smelling nice, I really cannot give a useful review of these products after 1 use.

9. Bifesta Moist Cleansing Sheet
I like the formula on the these cleansing sheets – it removes makeup rather efficiently, and they are very moist. Oftentimes, I find face wipes to be too dry so this is a nice change.

10. Kneipp Bath Oil in Arnica
This is meant to help relax muscles, but I don’t feel any real difference between using this and just taking a regular hot bath – I think the hot bath in itself already helps to relax muscles. But I do like this scent – it’s a nice light floral-ish scent that smells quite natural.

11. WestLab Dead Sea Salt (1KG)
I really love my hot baths! I always use some type of bath salts because they’re supposed to be good for your health. Although bath salts from retail stores are not that expensive individually, they do add up over time. We have been trying to cut down our expenses on bath salts by looking for cheaper alternatives – and found these WestLab ones. These are really great – they don’t have a scent and are so cheap, and comes in bulk too.

That’s it! I’ve finally said goodbye to the trash of 2016; let’s hope that I’ll be able to clear even more going forward in 2017!
