Unboxing: LookFantastic Beauty Box April 2017

I just did a quick check and realised that I’ve been counting wrongly and this would actually be my 2nd to last box from LookFantastic. I’m actually quite relieved because it’s finally coming to an end – I am rather tired of this subscription, not just because I harbour angry thoughts and feelings towards the LookFantastic company, but also because their boxes haven’t wow-ed me for a long time and I am also getting a “subscription box fatigue”.

This month’s theme is “The Natural Beauty Edition”, which takes inspiration from organic and natural brands that uses good-for-you ingredients, which feed the skin with nutrition as well as add a little coverage just where you need it.

Item 1. Vitamasques Pomegranate Sheet Mask
This apparently uses a unique triple layer sheet technology. Really? I don’t really get very excited by sheet masks – I love using them but I also always buy them in bulk from Korea. This doesn’t look very unique to me.

Item 2. Madara Smart Fine Line Minimizing Day Cream
This is for dry to very dry skin, which actually for once is my skin type. This is a natural and organic face cream enriched with botanical greens. I have the world’s largest stash of day cream but I will try this now because it’s almost the end of winter and day creams targeted towards dry skin don’t usually fare so well when the weather turns warmer.

Item 3. Laura Geller Balance and Brighten Foundation in Fair
A brightening foundation free from parabens and mineral oil and full of botanical ingredients. I’ve had this before and loved it, but I had a darker shade, probably Medium. I remember it giving a really smooth, flawless finish without looking powdery. I think this could still work with my current winter skin, so it is going into my daily routine now.

Item 4. Alterna Caviar CC Cream Leave-in Hair Perfector
I hate it when brands put “CC” in every product – this is a leave-in “hair perfector” for goodness sake! I think the “BB” and “CC” bandwagon has come and gone – it’s not cool anymore, so stop it. I’ve liked a few other products from Alterna and I really do think they could do better if they would just renamed the product.

Item 5. Omorovicza Cleansing Foam
This is a sulphate-free gentle cleansing foam that is supposed to remove all signs of dirt, oil and impurities. I’m a big fan of Omorovicza skincare and I love their facial (which you can get at Liberty London) so I’m really happy to receive this. Their products just feel so luxurious and “clean”, but they’re also really expensive.

Item 6. Merci Handy Hand Cleansing Gel
This is just a scented hand gel. I don’t believe that this is actually natural or organic because this is super cheap. It smells alright, but I never ever remember to use hand gels.

Item 7. This Works Perfect Legs Skin Miracle
This is a skin enhancing serum… for the legs. It’s supposed to even out skin tone and give a sun-kissed glow. This is a really small tube for something that’s meant for the legs! I’m worried that I would only have enough for one leg and I’ll end up with one bronzed and one white leg. I guess I will try it now when it’s still cold and my legs are extremely fair, and if it turns out that I only have enough for one leg then I could always hide it all under tights.

As usual, there’s a copy of Elle magazine enclosed but I’ve forgotten to include in the pictures. I’ve read that a lot of people are upset about the Elle magazine and would rather get another item, but I love that they include the Elle magazine. It’s filled with a lot of advertisements, but it’s a relaxing read – nothing serious, just pages of pretty stuff.

There’s 7 items, which seem like a lot but it really isn’t because there are a couple of items that are pretty much for 1 use only such as the mask and leg serum. I’m quite happy with this month’s box because there is ONE makeup item – the foundation – and an item from one of my favourite brands Omorovicza. But it still isn’t an exciting box – there’s nothing in there that I really want to try and there is still a lack of makeup items. I have enough day creams and hair protectors and I really don’t want to get a hand sanitizer in a beauty box.

What do you think of this month’s box from Look Fantastic?
