Single’s Day is supposed to be a festival in China where people celebrate that they are proud of being single but it has since evolved into a major online shopping day where there’s huge discounts or offers. Not surprisingly Sephora joined in and had 2 beauty boxes – a choice between “Makeup Junkie” and “Skincare Lover” – free with any purchase of S$150 and I thought that was a good time to grab up some new items that I’ve been eyeing! Even though this box is no longer available, I thought it would be quite interesting to see what’s in it!
1. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper Black, 0.2ml
A waterproof liquid eyeliner; I have a few liquid eyeliners open at the moment so this will be kept for the time being but I have heard good things about it and can’t wait to try.
2. Sigma Large Angled Contour F40
I own a few Sigma’s brushes; they’re not the softest but they’re pretty good quality and works well so I’m pretty happy to receive another.
3. TheBalm Balm Springs Long-wearing Blush, 0.8g
This is a really pretty colour and most importantly in such an adorable and convenient packaging! Definitely will be bringing this on holidays. I wish I could purchase the whole range in this mini size rather than the full size.
4. Benefit Hoola Quickie Contour Stick, 1.4g
Lately I’ve been trying out more new cream or stick versions of foundations, contours and highlights so this came at a perfect time. Because my skin is very dry, contouring with powder makes it even more obvious that I have powder on my skin so I’ve been trying to switch it up to creams so that it looks more natural.
5. Nudestix Intense Matte Lip+Cheek Pencil in Purity, 2.5g
This is supposed to be a medium nude pink shade; I haven’t opened it yet because I’m contemplating giving this to a friend who has been wanting to try some Nudestix. I’m a bit torn about it because I want it for myself but I really don’t need another lipstick.
6. Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara, 5.0g
On one hand, I’m really happy about getting one of their mascaras to try because I’ve never tried a mascara from this brand but on the other hand, I have over 20 brand new mascaras in my stash and about 5 opened ones at the moment.
7. Becca First Light Priming Filter Instant Complexion Refresh, 6ml
8. Burberry Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base, 5ml
A couple of primers/base. I’m usually not that excited about these because I am usually way too lazy to use them unless for a special occasion.
9. Sephora Rouge Cream in R49 Belly Dancing, 1g
I wasn’t expecting much from this despite hearing good reviews for Sephora’s lip creams and lipsticks in recent years and I’m really surprised by the quality of this lipstick – it’s really full colour and glides on very smoothly and feels really comfortable.
To be honest, I was a little more excited about what was in the free box than what I purchased and I am so glad that I got this box! I’m definitely hoping that there’s another round of these offers during the upcoming Cyber Monday!
Did you get the box too and what do you think about it?
