Happy New Year everyone and welcome back! I hope everyone have had a great end of year celebration and a great start to 2018 so far; I definitely had a wonderful and much needed getaway and I feel so much more refreshed and ready for a new start. Anyway, I thought I’d start the new year on a quick unboxing post – on the Sephora Favorites Makeup Superstars. What better way to welcome the new year by looking at new things?
This is limited edition as it is meant for Christmas gifting – Sephora does this every year and I love it because it allows you to try a lot of things at an affordable price. I did see the last few boxes floating around in store still so if you want to get them, don’t wait. This retails for S$89 with a ton of mini trial sizes of products and 2 full size items.
1. Nudestix Nudies All Over Face Color in Illumi-Naughty
This looks completely white in the stick but goes on very sheer with a pretty sheen. I’m just not sure if the sheen is strong enough to show up.
2. Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in Moonlight, 2.8ml
I already own a full size of this. To be honest, I don’t get the hype but maybe I am using it wrong. I’m not giving up yet though – I’ll be trying it out in other ways and see how it works.
3. NARS Blush in Orgasm, 3.5g
I’ve used up my share of NARS blush in Orgasm over the years – I believe it’s 2 mini sizes and 1 full size of it. I’m still glad to get this though as I don’t have one anymore and it’s such a pretty and easy to wear colour that I always come back to.
4. Benefit Hoola Quickie Cream-to-Powder Contour Stick, 1.4g
This looks like a convenient contour stick – I haven’t tried it yet but can’t wait to. I love the idea of contour sticks but haven’t found one that worked for me so hopefully this one will.
5. Urban Decay Naked Skin One & Done Complexion Perfector SPF20, 5ml
This is supposed to be a skin treatment with the coverage of a sheer foundation. I’m always on the look out for quick makeup solutions and this will be handy for gym days if it works.

The 2 full size items in the box – I haven’t tried Nudestix’s lip products before yet so I’m happy to get them and will be trying them out soon!
8. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Highlighter in Stunner, 2.2g
This looks like a really pretty pearly muted beige highlighter. It doesn’t look very intense but I think it’s very pretty on my skintone.
9. Tarte Ready, Set, Radiant Skin Mist, 7ml
10. Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover, 25ml
A couple of items that are not so exciting but useful. I didn’t used to like skin mists but now that I’m in sunny Singapore, I’m rediscovering the allure of a nice skin mist on a hot day. I’ve been using mascara regularly lately so the eye makeup remover will come in handy.
11. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper Black, 0.2ml
12. Marc Jacobs Highliner Gel Eye Crayon in Blacquer, 0.37g
I’ve received a number of eyeliners as part of gift with purchase or within a makeup set over the holidays so these will have to wait their turn to be used.
And that’s it! I think at the price of S$89, this was really worth it – there was a really good variety of products across a number of categories so everything will have a chance to be used and tried soon. There are many items that I haven’t tried before so it certainly was an exciting way to discover new products. I love the mini sizes – I think they’re cute and so travel friendly; I wish there are travel sizes regularly. If you can still find it in store, I would highly recommend that you pick this up if you like trying out new products!
