Makeup Destash: The Lips Edition

Recently I tried to put another new lip purchase into my shelf and I realised that I no longer have any space – and I actually have a whole level of my shelf dedicated to lip products! I never thought that this day would come; when I had the shelf built, it looked big enough to house everything I owned and would own in the next few years but I am fast running out of space. I thought it was time for another destash; I don’t think I cleared many lip products in my earlier depression-induced destashing session so it was definitely time.

1. Girlactik Pout Shine in Pretty
2. Revecen Moisture Shine Lip Gloss
3. Supercute Lip Gloss in Happiness

I haven’t really used them because they all have very little pigment and looks like clear shiny gloss. Unfortunately they are all showing signs of being separated so out they go!

4. Makeup Revolution in Lets Raise the Bar
This is annoying me because the lipstick is stuck in the cap. I could always dig it out and then try to stick it back into the tube, but it’s really not worth my effort.

5. Kiss Peony Cosmetics Lipstick in Simona
This is a pasty and hideous pink that will never look good. Enough said.

6. Fresh Sugar Rose Shine Lip Treatment
7. Fresh Sugar Honey Shine Lip Treatment

I loved these two and have used them quite a lot; they’re quite moisturising without being sticky but does contain enough pigment and the colours are pretty. It’s not obvious in the picture but they’re roughly half empty. However, I have had it for a long time – it’s been at least 3 years and it’s starting to look separated so out it goes.

8. Rimmel Lasting Finish by Kate Lipstick in 101
I had this for a very long time and I barely used it because the colour is just a little too baby pink for me; coupled with the matte texture, it looks weirdly dry and not very nice.

9. Ellis Faas Milky Lips in L204
This is in a weird burnt orange shade; the texture is okay – not too sticky, just slightly thick but I could not get the colour to work on me.

This was a smaller destash than I thought it would be – I have a giant stash of lip products so I had assumed this was going to be a really large post, but as I was going through my stash one item at a time, I realised that I can’t bear to part with them given that they are still generally so new and in very good condition. I also realised that a lot of my lip products are pretty recent purchases – I certainly have gotten more into lip products in recent years so there are a lot more underused items in my lip stash that I really should try to use more.

Anyway, I hope that you’ve found this post interesting! I guess it’s a lot like an empties post except… that the items are not empty! Have you done any destashing yourself lately?
