The Thirsty Skincare Routine

I love my skincare routine; I enjoy taking the time out to pamper my skin each night, with a quick session in the mornings, and I switch up my skincare according to how my skin feels. Lately my skin has been intensely dry with some flaking on my cheeks and chin. I have been really bad with my diet lately – I’ll admit that I don’t drink enough water and haven’t been eating much fruits and vegetables; I’ve promised myself that I will try to change that but it takes time so for now, I’m relying on my skincare routine to bring my skin health back.

I start off each night with the Omorovicza Omoressence ; this is supposed to be a balancing and hydrating essence. The texture is just like water so I use it more like a pre-essence to prepare my skin. I then follow it up on alternate nights with the The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 and the It’s Skin Powder 10 Formula YE Effector, which is supposed to be yeast extract for anti-aging but feels very hydrating; if my skin is feeling like it needed an extra layer of boost, I might layer both products some nights.

Last but not least, I will then follow it up with either the Omorovicza Illuminating Moisturiser or the Sunday Riley Juno Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil, usually using them on alternate nights. Despite my skin dryness, I feel that the face oil is a little too heavy for daily use and I definitely wouldn’t layer them. The Omorovicza moisturizer is nice and light, so it works nicely on the day after I’ve used an oil but not quite enough on its own as a daily night moisturizer; I would use a heavier moisturiser if I wasn’t using an oil in between.

I’ve shown some of these items in my last Post Indulgence Skincare Routine and it’s partly because I wanted to continue using up products that are already open, and partly because I know that my skin usually does not react well when I introduce too many new products into my routine suddenly so it is always better to switch out a couple of products each time to target current issues, rather than changing up the entire routine.

Have you tried any of the products mentioned? What are your thirsty skin saviours?
