Another month just disappeared and suddenly I’m nearly a week into June without even realising that May was already over. I had a shock when I was signing off a delivery receipt and the deliveryman told me the date. I always start out every month convinced that I would have more time to sit down and blog, and I have a little notepad that’s stuffed full of ideas and things that I wanted to say, but never had the time to do so.
Anyway, May was seriously jam-packed, so much so that I didn’t even have time to focus on finishing up products – I just grabbed what was close by and opened without making an effort, so this will be a smaller empties post.
1. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
This is nice sometimes when your skin feels a bit overwhelmed with too much high-end or intense skincare while this is a really simple and gentle cleanser.
2. Nioxin Cleanser in 6 Noticeably Thinning Chemically Treated
Age is catching up on me and I have been looking everywhere for a hair-fall control shampoo. I quite like this; I think I do notice a bit less hair fall, but I can’t be sure since I have a new robot vacuum that sucks up all the hair on the floor.
3. Pantene Pro-V 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner for Hair Fall Control
This is a pretty heavy conditioner, which works well as a weekly deep condition but makes the hair really flat if used more than that. Will repurchase.
4. Sukin Micellar Cleansing Water
This felt nice and doesn’t leave a film behind like some cleansing water, but unfortunately it is also not one of the more effective ones; it takes a lot just to remove all my face makeup.
5. Unni Recipe Vitamin Recharger Mist
I’ve been using this in place of a toner on days that my skin feels too dry to withstand one; I think it smells quite nice but honestly I doubt that it does anything.
6. Skin Food Black Sugar Mask Wash Off
I’ve used this before and I used to like it but these days I find it too coarse and harsh for the skin on my face, so I’ve been using it on my legs instead.
7. The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
8. The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5
Two The Ordinary products that I’ve mentioned in previous skincare posts; the first is a blemish formula and the latter a hydrating one. I really enjoy The Ordinary’s products – I find them to be very affordable yet effective, and it caters to my love of apothecary-looking products as well as my enjoyment of mixing and matching products for my skin’s needs as most of their products target very specific needs. Definitely will repurchase.
9. Fresh Rose Floral Toner
10. Erborian Yuza Double Lotion
Two small toner/lotions that I’ve been testing out. I like the Fresh toner; I’m partial towards anything rose scented and it’s not too drying . I find the Erborian lotion to be ridiculous – I don’t understand why there was a need for a bi-phase lotion as it didn’t seem to do more than a normal lotion. Will probably purchase the Fresh toner but not the Erborian lotion.
11. Jo Malone Grapefruit Cologne
I like simple scents, as well as fruity scents, so this should have ticked all the boxes but somehow it didn’t quite do so. I find it smelling a little too sour? It’s still a nice scent, but I would prefer it to be slightly sweeter smelling.
12. Sigma Large Powder Brush F30
As you can see from the picture, the brush is broken. I could glue it back together but it will always be slightly wonky, and the brush hair is also feeling a little worse for wear so I thought it’s time to retire this. I did enjoy it while it lasted; it used to be a nice and cheap brush but in recent years their prices have crept up way beyond what they’re worth.
So that’s all the empties that I have in May! What about you; have you used up anything?
