I’ve recently reviewed a similar kit – the Jouer Jet Set Lip Kit in Le Rose – but what I didn’t mention in that post is that I also own the Le Perle set. I actually did not purchase this – this was mistakenly sent instead of Le Rose, which was what I ordered, but when I wrote in to let them know that they have sent the wrong item, Cult Beauty sent me Le Rose with expedited shipping and let me keep Le Perle with no charge. I am just so impressed with their fantastic service and they have certainly won me over as a loyal customer.
Product Description from Jouer: Jet-Set away with your favorite Lip Kit, featuring a full size Crème Lip Liner, a mini Long-Wear Lip Topper and a mini Long-Wear Lip Crème Liquid Lipstick to help you create your perfect on-the-go pout.
This originally costs £16.67 from Cult Beauty for non-UK customers and £20 for UK customers because of taxes. The set comes with a full size Crème Lip Liner in Pink Champagne, described as a warm metallic pink champagne, a mini 2ml Long-Wear Lip Crème in Opal, described as a warm metallic champagne gold and a mini 2ml Long-Wear Lip Topper in Funfetti, described as a holographic shimmering opal with pink shift.
I like how the packaging looks – it looks like one of those old trunk casing that people used to travel with. However, it’s very redundant and a waste of cardboard – I will be throwing the box out. The actual products’ packaging are simple, tiny and nice; the lip creme and lip topper both come in small plastic lip gloss tubes with a doe-foot applicator.
The Crème Lip Liner in Pink Champagne is as described a warm metallic pink champagne. I didn’t really like it when I first swatched it because I thought the metallic look would be too reminiscent of disco days, but on it’s own it’s actually quite muted and less metallic, making it much more wearable. It’s very comfortable to wear, very lightweight and glide on smoothly with very high pigmentation. On its own, I get a very good wear time.
The Long-Wear Lip Crème in Opal is also pretty true to description – a warm metallic champagne gold. I really don’t like how it looks on my lips – it’s too metallic, like an outerspace alien’s lips, and takes a lot of time to properly apply it or it will look patchy. The consistency of the product is thin so it’s really comfortable to wear, and it’s smooth and easy to spread. I didn’t fully test the wear time because I had to wipe it off as it’s so ugly.
The last item in the set is the Long-Wear Lip Topper in Funfetti, a holographic shimmering opal with pink shift. It’s actually pretty and fun-looking, once you get over how it looks just a bit too childish for a woman in her 30s. The pink shift/speckles are big and feels really gritty, especially when you rub your lips together; they tend to migrate so don’t be surprised to see some speckles near your lips if you do eat or drink while wearing this.
I really wanted to like this set because I enjoyed Le Rose so much; I love the mini size – they’re so cute and so much more practical than a giant lip gloss that I’ll never finish. If you like the colour, I find the set to be really good value – a full size lip creme already cost £15 for 6ml of product, and for £5 more you can try another 2 items. Personally, I would never have purchased this lip set – it’s too nude and shimmery. But I also understand shade preferences are very personal and if you like these kind of colour, I think it’s worth a look.
