Am I weird if beauty empties posts/videos are my favourites to read/watch? I love finding out what other people have used up – a little stalker-ish, but I think the best reviews come from people who have actually used an item up rather than one who’ve only had a few goes at it. Let’s take a look at what I’ve used up in September!
1. Nivea Invisible Anti-perspirant Deodorant
I don’t actually sweat very much despite the extremely hot weather here so I’m not quite sure what made me buy this deodorant. I didn’t finish it but it’s past expiry so out it goes.
2. Original Source Daily Scrub Cranberry and Honey
I love the smell of this – so fruity and yummy – but I find the scrub bits a little non-existent. I will probably still buy it again though for the amazing scent.
3. Shara Shara Revital Magic Cream
Horrible, horrible product. I couldn’t bring myself to use it up; the cream was so thick and hard to spread. It was just totally awful and not magical at all.
4. Giovanni 50:50 Balanced Hydrating-Calming Conditioner
5. Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Treat Invigorating Shampoo
A couple of small travel size shampoo and conditioner that I brought to the gym; I didn’t find them very memorable but I think I also don’t use them consistently enough – only once a week at the gym – to know if they’ve made any difference to my hair.
6. Darlie All Shiny White Toothpaste
7. Darlie Expert Fresh Toothpaste
Darlie is not my favourite brand of toothpaste; I got these from some beauty boxes and I don’t like the taste or texture, but I don’t hate them enough to let them go to waste.
8. Value Nails Nail Foils
These were really cheap – about SGD2 for a set; but the quality is really cheap too. It chipped and ‘rolled’ up within an hour of being on my nails. I still have a few of these to go through as it was 5 for SGD10, but I won’t be repurchasing any more.
9. L’occitane Verbena Body Lotion
10. L’occitane Verbena Shampoo
11. L’occitane Verbena Shower Gel
More travel sized products for the gym! I always take these from hotels; apparently a lot of hotels use L’occitane’s Verbena range so I used to have a huge stash of these. I like the shower gel and body lotion; the scent is not too strong but nice, clean and natural. I don’t really like the shampoo because it’s kind of drying for my already dry and coarse hair.
12. Asience Inner Rich Conditioner
13. Asience Inner Rich Shampoo
For someone with very dry hair, I think Asience is a really good haircare brand. I’ve tried a lot of products from the brand and they usually leave my hair feeling much smoother; some of them do tend to weigh my hair down though so if you have oily or thin hair then maybe it’s not for you. But this works wonder for my extremely thick and coarse hair. One thing though – I think they stink out of the bottle; but the smell goes away after a rinse.
I have a lot more beauty empties – a lot of proper make up items rather than shower items – so stay tuned to find out what else I’ve used up in the month of September!
