Beauty Empties: January 2016 – Part 2

The rainy season has started and it’s been raining everyday, making it so hard to get proper lighting for a decent picture. Add the fact that I live on the third floor in a high-rise apartment building, with a giant tree in front of my room so I barely get any natural light now. So hopefully the pictures for the next month will turn out fine, but please bear with me while we ride out this season! Anyway, let’s get on to Part 2 of January’s empties!

11. RMS Beauty Raw Coconut Cream
This had so much rave reviews but it’s crap. It’s supposed to be usable as a makeup remover and moisturiser for both skin and hair. It’s too oily for any of the intended uses, is way too heavy and it is impossible to wash off. Also, in tropical climates, it assumes the texture of water, which makes it very difficult to use or handle. The worst part is this quickly grew mold! AWFUL.

12. The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask
Haven’t used this up but it’s been over 2 years so this has got to go. I don’t really like using this mainly because of the scent, which is a pretty strong and minty; it isn’t as drying as I thought it would be though, but didn’t really do much for my pimples either.

13. Dr.Ci:Labo Aqua-Collagen-Gel Super Moisture EX
This has a gel-like texture that feels cool on the touch, sinks into the skin super quickly, feels very lightweight, and left the skin feeling moisturised. I like it.

14. Sulwhasoo Essential Balancing Water
Have used tons of this; it’s not bad – this has the usual Sulwhasoo herbal scent, although slightly lighter than the other products in the line. But I don’t see much effect though.

15. O.S.T Vitamin Sleep 9 to 5 Cream
This is supposed to be full of vitamin C and it smells of citrus, which I like. It’s a medium-thick cream that’s slightly gel-like; it is moisturising but sinks in quickly and doesn’t feel too heavy.

16. Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream
A really moisturising facial cream that’s not too thick or oily. This sinks into the skin quickly; I used it under makeup once and it didn’t cause my makeup to shift and slide at all.

17. Skinfood Premium Tomato Whitening Toner
The texture is very watery and has a slight floral scent; it feels quite refreshing to use. However, I don’t think there was any whitening effect at all. Actually, I received a lot of comments that I looked darker, and I haven’t been out in the sun. I won’t repurchase.

18. GlamGlow Youthmud Tinglexfoliate Treatment
I love this mud mask – it really clears up my skin, leaving my pores looking much less visible. I don’t know how but it really works for me; definitely will on my repurchase list.

19. Secret Key Starting Treatment Essential Mask
Love this. This was totally soaked with serum and left my skin feeling well moisturised, as well as looking smooth and plump. I think the effect lasted a lot longer than other sheet masks.

20. McGirly Good Morning Rice Wash x3
Rice water is supposed to be beneficial for your skin; my godma used to make me wash my face with real rice water. I’m skeptical how much benefits I can get from splashing water on my face and it’s a little bit cumbersome, but since I have a box of this I will continue to use it up.

That’s it for Part 2! Part 3 with all the makeup products will be coming right up, so please check back in a couple of days!
