Now for Part 3, the final part, of the empties post for January 2016! This part will be all make-up items – some are finished, and some are just too old and gross to justify keeping.
21. Chanel Les 4 Ombres in 234 Poesie
Unbelievable, but I actually finished a whole palette! There is actually one small eyeshadow left but I don’t use that shade much – my favourite ones are fully used up. I’m really amazed because I got this about a year ago and I never ever use up eyeshadow that quickly. I really love the taupe and highlight shade; the texture is really soft, highly pigmented and easy to blend, and looks so beautiful on. Sadly this is limited edition, otherwise I would totally repurchase.
22. Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush in Magic
Was cleaning my room when I dropped it and it smashed, falling everywhere on the floor. I like this shade, but I find the texture slightly drier than the full size versions.
23. Catrice Eyebrow Filler Perfecting & Shaping Gel
I really like this! This is really affordable, and does the job well – it’s tinted brown, so it not just keep the brows in place but also adds definition and colour to my brows.

25. Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick in 085 Supreme Sienna
These are totally brand new but they’re really old; I bought half a dozen of them several years ago without trying any first. Then I tried a couple and totally hated them – they’re extremely drying, left my lips cracked and accentuated all the lines on my lips. Not a good look.
26. Essence XXXL Shine Lipgloss in Super Girl
Bought this ages ago; it’s extremely shiny and glittery; I think it looks too childish on.
27. Estee Lauder Double Wear Moisture Powder Stay-in-Place Makeup
Medium to full coverage powder foundation; I like it but don’t love it – I think it looks unnatural and somewhat powdery, but it’s good for days when my skin isn’t at its best. I don’t understand the “moisture” term in a powder product, and it’s expensive.
28. L’Oreal Shine Caresse Lip Color in 605 Eve
This is quite old so out it goes. I liked this when I first bought it – it feels nice on, not too sticky or heavy, and I love the colour. But for some reason this was neglected at the back of my drawer.
29. Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadowliner in Skinny Jeans
A well loved item; a light layer gives a good colour payoff, and dries down quickly to a full-day of smudge-proof colour. I’ve had this for over 7 years! It’s finally dried out so out it goes.
30. Sugarpill Loose Eyeshadow in Hysteric
I love Sugarpill’s loose eyeshadows – extremely shimmery and sparkly. It needs a good base but looks amazing when you’ve got the application perfected. Didn’t use it up all by myself – I gave out and sold samples of it away because it’s impossible to use it up.
And that’s all the empties for January 2016! I thought it would be more than 30 items because in terms of volume it felt a lot more than usual, but I guess volume is deceiving! I’m still happy though to have cleared out so much – my goal is to reduce at least another 2 boxes of beauty stash before I move house in April.
