Beauty Empties: 1 – 15 December 2016

Wow, where has the time gone? Suddenly we’re halfway through the final month of the year! It’s mind boggling how fast time goes, when you’re not counting down every minute (that used to be me when I was doing a job I hate and the year just crawled on). But now that I’m having the time of my life, the year just disappeared! Anyway, here’s the second-to-final empties post for the year!

1. Davines NaturalTech Nourishing Shampoo
A really nice shampoo that makes the hair feel really smooth and tangle-free afters; I’ve been a fan of Davines’ haircare for a while. They’re not the easiest to get hold of, but they work really well on my very coarse and thick hair.

2. Sulwhasoo Snowise Brightening Cream
3. Sulwhasoo Snowise Brightening Serum
4. Estee Lauder Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator
5. Shu Uemura Vitalising Renewing Night Cream

Some skincare sachets I’ve been trying to clear out. I don’t like to travel with sachets because it’s hard to have many sachets of the same item so it means I’ll be using many different products in a trip, which can be tricky and irritating for my skin. Anyway, I think these are too small – only 1 use per sachet – for me to tell if they’re really effective.

6. Innisfree Skinny Waterproof Microcara
Reviewed here. Love this! Highly recommended and will repurchase.

7. Kadalys Musaclean Gentle Clarifying Mask
Not a fan. This smells a little weird, like a mix between herb and mud. I don’t usually smell mud from mud-masks, but I do from this. I couldn’t see any effect after using this mask too.

8. Lancome Energie de Vie The Smoothing & Glow Boosting Liquid Care
I like the texture – slightly thicker than water, and sinks into the skin quickly. This was a good sample size – lasted a week. I do think that my skin looks ‘fresher’ after a week of use.

9. BalmBalm Relax Bath & Shower Oil
The final bottle in the set that I purchased. It’s alright – nothing too special about this bath oil. Nothing I’ve tried so far has won my heart like the Aromatherapy Associates bath oils.

10. Shiseido White Lucent Brightening Balancing Softener
A really small bottle of softener, or toner. Doesn’t feel too special.

11. Caviar Anti-aging Moisture Intense Oil Creme Pre-Shampoo Treatment
I like this. This made my hair really smooth and silky afters, but I have to be careful to keep it to the tips of my hair and away from the roots, otherwise it feels kind of oily and heavy.

12. Sunday Riley Artemis Hydroactive Cellular Face Oil
13. Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil

Two beautiful and luxurious face oils. I use the Sunday Riley oil when my skin is feeling a little irritable, and I use the Pai oil when my skin feels dry and uncomfortable. I interchange between these oils and only use face oils about 3 times a week – so these two big bottles of oils lasted a really long time. They’re expensive, but you really only need a tiny amount so it takes ages to use them up. I’ve purchased new face oils, which I can’t wait to try, so it will be awhile before I repurchase these but I would.

14. Human+Kind In-Shower Body Moisturiser
I don’t understand what the whole point of this is and it feels so wasteful – I used up the entire bottle in one shower! I honestly prefer to apply body moisturiser when my skin is dry – feels more moisturising than slapping on cream and washing it off.

15. Christophe Robin Purifying Shampoo with Jujube Bark Extract
I love using purifying shampoos every few days to “clear out the gunk” in my hair – especially since I use a lot of thick conditioners in the winter, I like to “start fresh” every few days so my hair doesn’t feel weighed down. This is quite good but I think not purifying enough.

16. Malin+Goetz Rum Body Wash
Got these from a hotel; they’re nice but nothing special.

This feels like such an achievement – 16 items! I know 5 of them are sachets, so it is super easy to use them up, but there were also two full-size bottles of face oils which took so long! I honestly feel very proud of myself for clearing out so many items this month.

A few posts ago I mentioned that I went home and cleared out a ton of items; at the same time I also found LOTS of travel size products that were still usable and I brought them back with me to Belgium, so expect to see a lot of small empties in the coming months!
