For December, LookFantastic’s Beauty Box came in a really pretty rose gold box with snowflake patterns on it. I really love the boxes that the items come in, and I actually keep all of them – I think they’re so useful to store things in, and I like how sturdy they are. Anyway, let’s get to the most important point of the box – the products inside!
This month’s theme is “#LFXmas”, with products to get you glammed up and gorgeous, as well as treats to keep the skin and hair looking radiant.
Item 1. Bubble T Bath Bomb in Hibiscus and Acai Berry Tea | 180g
I love hot baths, so I was so happy when I first saw this! This is infused with Goji Berry, which is rich in antioxidents and Vitamins A and C. I think this will be used tonight!
Item 2. Illamasqua Hydra Veil Primer | 6ml
This is a really interesting product – it’s kind of like a more solid clear gel; it looks like crumbled jello. Apparently this is best applied with a stippling brush because of its unique texture. This feels very light and cooling on the skin. I can’t wait to put this to the test!
Item 3. Mellow Cosmetics Matte Lipstick in Madness | 3.8g
I have a thing for red lips these days, and I think Christmas is the best time to wear them so this lipstick came at a perfect time! It’s a really bright strong red, with matte texture, glides on smoothly and it’s very highly pigmented. I haven’t tested it out fully but it left a stain on my hand after I swatched it and kept it on for less than a minute!
Item 4. Skin Republic Caviar and CoQ10 Face Mask | 25ml
I love sheet masks – they’re so easy and convenient to use. This one is claimed to contain a blend of Caviar which is rich in vitamins to moisturise the skin, as well as Witch Hazel and CoQ10. Guess this is going into my beauty routine tonight as well!
Item 5. Philip Kingsley Elasticizer | 40ml
This is a pre-shampoo treatment to add bounce and volume to the hair. I have enough hair treatments, as it seems like there is one in every single beauty box, and I always forget to use them. I will put this in the bath with shampoos and hope that I remember to use it!
Item 6. Balance Me Pure Skin Face Wash | 50ml
This face wash contains Frankincense oil, which is supposed to help reduce the appearance of blemishes – which is great for the festive season! To be honest, I’m always happy to receive face wash, no matter what it is like, because I use them up really quickly and I can’t find a decent one in Belgium! Shocking but true; although it’s partially because I can’t read French and so I don’t really know which item is a face wash.
As usual, there’s a complimentary copy of the Elle UK magazine, which is always awesome! I’m really quite happy with the contents of this month’s box – there’s a beautiful lipstick, a bath bomb that I can’t wait to use, as well as a sheet mask and face wash. The Illamasqua primer is really interesting and I can’t wait to try it. I’m not excited about the hair treatment but 5 good hits out of 6 products is an amazing feat!
