The first empties post of 2017! Well, technically it’s the second that I’ve put up this year, but this is the first one about things that I’ve used up in 2017. I was on vacation in the first week of 2017, so I was really surprised to see many items in my little empties bin! A lot of them were on their last legs, but I did try my best at the start of the new year to pick out items that I’ve already dug into and put them aside to remind myself to use them first rather than digging into newer and more exciting stuff.
1. Aromatherapy Associates Bath & Shower Oil in Inner Strength
2. Aromatherapy Associates Bath & Shower Oil in Light Relax
If you’ve been reading my blog, you’d know that these are my favourite bath oils in the world. Sadly it is also super expensive so I don’t buy them very often. But when I do, the husband and I fight over who gets to use them because they are just so awesome. They smell so good and leaves the skin feeling really well moisturised but not oily.
3. Lancome Softening Hydrating Toner
This is quite nice; it’s not drying like most western toners.
4. Bioderma Crealine H2O Solution Micellaire Demaquillante
I’ve used this a lot and I like it but I don’t rely on micellar waters to remove makeup anymore. I prefer to do a double cleanse these days because I find that it removes makeup better, but I keep these handy for emergency situations like when I’m too tired or to remove any makeup remnants like leftover mascara the next day.
5. Lancome Advanced Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate
Another item that I’ve used a lot of before; I like it – it’s a very lightweight serum that sinks into the skin very quickly without leaving any sticky feeling. I might go back to using this when I’ve run through my other serums.
6. Nivea 3in1 Refreshing Cleansing Wipes
I don’t use cleansing wipes much, but they are still useful if you want to travel light and can’t be bothered to bring different types of face wash. This is not too bad – removes face makeup well but is a little weak on removing eye makeup, plus it feels slightly too dry.
7. Escada Agua Del Sol
The most awful perfume in the whole wide world – I didn’t even bother to finish it. This smells like a concentrated fruit juice soaked in sugar. Feels like a really cheap and awful perfume that you get from little kid’s stores. Avoid at all cost!
8. Rituals The Ritual of Sakura Magic Touch Body Cream x 2
9. Missha Time Revolution White Care Tone Up Serum
A few small sachets that I don’t really recall much of. The Rituals cream smells good, feels rather thick but not too greasy. But I can’t even remember when I used the Missha serum.
10. Malin + Goetz Rum Body Wash
Took this from a hotel stay; we stayed at the same hotel for a while so I have a huge stash of these, especially the body moisturisers. It’s not bad – smells nice and cleans well I suppose.
11. Simple Kind to Skin Refreshing Facial Wash Gel
I really like Simple’s products; they’re… simple, but very effective for me and pretty cheap for the quality. This makes the skin feel really clean without stripping it of moisture. I’ve already bought a few backups of this to travel with.
12. Anatomicals The Buff Stuff Citrus Body Scrub
A rather average body scrub; not really impressed by it but it doesn’t suck.
13. Missha M Magic Cushion in No 23
Reviewed here; I really loved this – it’s great for dry skins but I have a lot of other foundations to run through at the moment so I won’t be repurchasing.
And that’s it! 13 items – a really good effort, if I do say so myself. I’ve switched up my system at the start of the new year – keeping items that are untouched in a separate bag and only using things that are already opened. I’m hoping that it’ll help me use up all the neglected items, because I very low attention span and love jumping between products; also, hopefully this will keep me using the same item long enough to see if they have any effect (or not).
Have you used up any items so far?
