Right on the heels of the unboxing post of its more deluxe sibling, today we are unboxing the Look Incredible Beauty Box for February 2017. At slightly more than half the price of the deluxe version, the regular version seem like a better value and a rather good alternative for someone who doesn’t want to pay £35 for a beauty box.
The Look Incredible Beauty Box is from the UK and promises 5 full size high end Beauty products each month at the cost of £18.99, with free delivery if you live in the UK. I don’t live in the UK, so I have to pay another £10 for shipping – the good news is if you purchase 2 boxes (they have another deluxe beauty box), the total shipping cost is still the same.
Item 1. Coastal Scents Revealed Smoky Palette
RRP: £20
I’ve had those huge palettes from Coastal Scents many years ago and while they weren’t the best quality, they serve well for someone who is experimenting with makeup. This is a nice palette, with 20 shades across light and dark spectrums. Even though this is called “Smoky”, there are a lot of nude shades that would work well for an every day look too.
Item 2. Fresh Face Essence with Green Coffee
RRP: £20 (Discontinued)
This is supposed to be a revitalising and hydrating essence. I tried to find it online but couldn’t, so I assume this is yet another discontinued product. As there’s no expiry date, I’m wary of trying it so I will be slathering it on my feet instead.
Item 3. Fresh Sugar Shine Lip Treatment
A colourless lip gloss that’s supposed to be a lip treatment. I was supposed to receive a Nails Inc polish rather than this, according to the included leaflet, but honestly I don’t mind the replacement because I have way too many polishes and I’m too lazy to use them. My lips are also very chapped right now, so the lip treatment is a lot more useful than a nail polish.
Item 4. Korres Mango Butter Lipstick in 25 Natural Rose
RRP: £15
This is a really pretty rose shade! It’s on the sheerer side and feels like a tinted lip balm rather than a lipstick, but it’s really comfortable on. I really like this one.
Item 5. Studio 10 Brow Lift Perfecting Liner
RRP: £22
A double ended liner that has a defining shade and a natural-skin coloured highlighter. I’m not really into doing my brows too much because I have very strong brows naturally, but I do have a “hole” that I fill in when I’m not too lazy. This does look like a good colour to try.
That’s it! The 5 items in the regular version of the Look Incredible Beauty Box. I feel like February’s boxes, both the regular and deluxe, are filled with a lot of discontinued items and that is not acceptable. To me, a Beauty Box should be filled with products that excite the buyers to go out and buy more, so it should be new or relatively unknown products, rather than a way for the companies to offload their unwanted goods.
I have written in to the company about my concerns, but I don’t think that they will reply me. I’m giving them one more month and if I see another discontinued product in any of their boxes next month, I will be ending my subscription.
