While on honeymoon, I had the scariest eruption all over my face – I have had good skin generally all my life, but about 3 to 4 days into our honeymoon, my chin area started feeling rough. I brushed it off initially, but by the end of the first week, I had small cluster pimples all across my cheeks and chin – and all of them had pus in them and ready to pop!
The cluster pimples didn’t go away even after my honeymoon so I basically ran to the nearest Watson’s to find this Eucerin DermoPurifyer Active Concentrate. I’ve used this once years ago when I had a slightly more minor outbreak from stress – it wasn’t anything near as horrible as what I was having this time round, so I was praying that it would give the same effect.
Claims from Eucerin:
Eucerin DermoPURIFYER Active Concentrate is a very light, fast-absorbing emulsion. The formula, with concentrated Lactic Acid, delivers a comedolytic effect and improves skin complexion. Pores are effectively unclogged and purified. The formula contains Decandiol which has an anti-bacterial effect to help prevent the further development of blemishes.
The formula is very lightweight and fluid, so it sinks into the skin easily and leaves behind a silky feeling similar to applying primers so it does work well under makeup as well. I apply about 2-3 pumps all over my face after toning, avoiding the eye area. This comes in a glass bottle, which gives it a bit more heft than expected of a drugstore item, with a useful pump nozzle.
I’ve been using this about 2 weeks, and this has been a lifesaver for me once again. It’s not a miracle – it took about 1 week of nightly application for the pimples on my chin to subside, while the ones on my cheeks are still there, but has reduced to smaller bumps. I can’t swear it is all due to the product as it could be the change in air and water that led to my improved skin.
I have dry skin and skincare products targeted at fighting blemishes would usually dry out my skin and make it all flaky – but I have not had this problem with this product. It is not moisturising at all, but it’s not too uncomfortably dry either. On application, it does feel like it’s targeted towards oily skin because of how ‘dry’ or matte it applies.
The usual price for this is SGD29.90, but I bought this during a “buy-one-get-one-half-off” sale at Watson’s. Since 2-3 pumps is all I need per evening, this should last about 3 months with once a day use. If you’re having issues with sudden breakouts, I would recommend giving this a try!
