As much as I would like to stay away from LookFantastic after this totally not-fantastic treatment by the company, I still have a subscription for their beauty box until the end of June, so I just have to bear with it and continue to put up my unboxing posts for them until then. This month’s theme is “The Runway Edition”, in anticipation of London Fashion Week.
Item 1. Polaar Icy Magic Roll on | 10ml
This is a roll-on eye cream; I do enjoy using roll-ons for eye creams and they provide a nice massage but I always find them a bit gross and gunky after using it a couple of times.
Item 2. Model Co Eye Lites Metallic Shadow in St Barts
A pretty beige-gold metallic shadow cream; this glides on easily, is semi-opaque and dries quickly. It was quite hard to remove the swatch so this should have good lasting power.
Item 3. This Works Deep Sleep Stress Less | 5ml
A little rollerball infused with eucalyptus and lavender, it’s supposed to help fight tension and insomnia. I don’t have problems with sleeping so this will be given away.
Item 4. Borghese Fango Mud Mask in Fango Ferma | 25g
This is packaged in a small coffee-capsule-like container and I think is enough for one use. It’s supposed to be a clay mask that helps to improve your skin’s condition and texture.
Item 5. The Ordinary Natural Moisturising Factors + HA | 30ml
RRP: €5.80 for 30ml
A moisturiser infused with hyaluronic acid, ceramides and glycerin. I like the simple and clinical look of the packaging and it’s a pretty generous size for its price. I think it’s actually made by the same company who makes Hylamide products which I like.
Item 6. MyVitamins Catwalk Queen
A blend of vitamins that’s supposed to boost the appearance of your hair, skin and nails. I’m not a fan of any edible items included in beauty boxes, because I want beauty and makeup products, and people could be allergic to whatever edible items is included.
This month’s box is somewhat clouded by my intense anger at LookFantastic – look at this post if you want to know why, so nothing in this box can really appease me.
That said, even if I was on neutral grounds, there’s only the Model Co metallic shadow that looks interesting and in line with the theme. I really don’t like receiving vitamins in my beauty boxes, because I have a pre-existing illness and there are a lot of things that I cannot consume and it pisses me off when beauty boxes give out edible items without understanding that they are supposed to send out beauty and skincare items. If I wanted food, I would have gone to the supermarket or got a box that’s explicitly targeted at food.
Meanwhile, bear with me while I am still really angry with LookFantastic so I’m not going to be happy at the sight of anything from the company. I can’t wait for my subscription to run out so I can stop seeing their name.
This box honestly looks kinda disappointing – the product that would really interest me would be The Ordinary product Beauty On A Budget
